Channeling a lifelong love for fashion into collaborations with top designers and solo endeavors, William DeBilzan has spent over a decade applying his trained eye and unique style to a variety of projects in the fashion industry.  His focus today is on the continued expansion of his handbag collaboration, fashion line, and couture collection, each of which is detailed below.

For more than 10 years William DeBilzan has collaborated with South America’s top luxury handbag designer, Mario Hernandez, to present limited edition handbags featuring DeBilzan’s artwork.  Each bag is handmade in Bogota, Columbia, where the Mario Hernandez headquarters has been located since 1978.  Available exclusively in the DeBilzan Galleries and Mario Hernandez stores, the bags have been featured on Project Runway and are owned by many discerning members of the fashion world, including Kate Middleton and several former Miss Columbia titleholders.

Merging his art with a lifelong love for fashion, DeBilzan launched a line of wearable art for women in 2015.  Following an overwhelmingly positive reception, the artist expanded into menswear in 2016 and shortly afterward formed partnerships with several high-end boutiques and luxury resorts.  DeBilzan’s unique designs have since been featured on several runways, including an opening show in Times Square during the New York Fashion Week.  Today the highly expressive DeBilzan line is carried by the Guggenheim,  and Fairmont Hotels, among others.

DeBilzan’s couture collection is considered by many to be “paintings on clothing.”  A long-time attendee of the Delray Beach Fashion Week, DeBilzan spent years admiring the creative expressions of the designers featured during the event.  When one of these designers asked him to paint on a tuxedo for an upcoming wedding, the artist immersed himself in the project and discovered a new creative outlet in the process.  Today, DeBilzan’s couture blazers, dresses, and denim blur the line between art and fashion by combining beauty with functionality.  First-time clients inevitably report that the reaction they receive when wearing DeBilzan couture makes them feel like a celebrity; heads turn and people take notice.
