Artist William DeBilzan was commissioned to create over 2900 square feet of site-specific artwork for the Court Yard Marriott Central Park, located at 1717 Broadway, New York. Guests are greeted by 4 of DeBilzan’s figurative sculptures as they enter the hotel lobby. The floor-to-ceiling murals are located on the third and fourth floors of the hotel, along with a cityscape black and white mural on the fifth floor. The artwork also includes 7 pillars on the fourth floor, 2 pillars in the conference rooms, 8 paintings in the elevators, and 2 sculptures on the fifth floor.
William DeBilzan incorporated memorabilia from New York throughout the murals to reflect the history and strength of New York City. The project was completed in 90 days during the construction of the hotel.
DeBilzan’s paintings are also at The Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai, the world’s tallest building.
